Painting: Acrylic on Canvas.

When Raphael painted his iconic work, the Madonna di San Sisto, in 1512, he had no idea that the canvas one day would travel to Dresden and Moscow and that the two winged dudes below Mother Marie would become breakaway characters on coffee mugs and t-shirts. Today, they are the stars of the painting “The Dudes” with tiny Madonnas, saints and wise men all around them.
